Antibodies are produced by the body as a normal response to an infection. A Neutrophil Antibody Screen measures the presence and amount of antibodies in the blood that the body has made against neutrophils, which are a component of white blood cells (WBCs). Increased neutrophil antibody levels are seen in people who have had a previous blood transfusion reaction and is usually caused by antibodies in the donor's blood against the recipient's WBCs.
