A small amount of inflamed skin is removed and examined with a microscope to diagnose whether a skin rash is caused by the autoimmune diseases SLE (systemic lupus erythmatosis), discoid lupus erythmatosis (DLE), or other autoimmune diseases. Cutaneous Immunofluorescence Biopsy is used to confirm the cause of the skin rash and monitor how well you are responding to treatment.
