B2M is a protein that is found on all cells of the body, especially white blood cells and lymph cells, and is used as a tumor marker. B2M blood levels are used to diagnose various cancers, chronic inflammatory diseases, and AIDS/HIV infection. B2M levels are also used to determine the aggressiveness of cancer, the stage of the disease, and the prognosis.
