Alternate Names

  • IgE Antibody Test
  • RAST (Radioallergosorbent Test)
  • Allergy Screen

Allergy Blood Testing measures the levels of serum IgE (immunoglobulin) in your blood; which is used to both diagnose allergies and to identify the specific cause (allergen) of your allergy. The suspected allergen is mixed with your blood; then IgE levels are measured. The most common allergy blood test is RAST (radioallergosorbent test).
